Peer Workforce Outreach Committee
The Peer Workforce Development Initiative continues to assess Vermont’s peer workforce needs, promoting awareness and participation by providing resources and information to peer support workers, and ensuring the availability of peer support worker training. Our team consists of individuals who have lived experience and have worked in leadership within various peer support roles. Since 2020, we have trained hundreds of individuals in Intentional Peer Support and many other peer support-focused trainings. PWDI works in partnership with the VT Peer Certification Training Center, as Intentional Peer Support training is the prerequisite for becoming a Certified Peer Support Provider (CPSP) in Vermont. We continue to provide ongoing support and consultations to organizations and individuals through co-reflections, committees, and community events.
We are excited to launch our new Peer Workforce Outreach Committee, a space for connecting with others who are exploring and learning about peer support or are currently working in the community. With the implementation of Peer Certification underway in Vermont, we’re aware this will expand opportunities for some and perhaps create some barriers for others. The purpose of this committee is to share resources and updates with each other, as well as organize and look at ways we can promote programs, opportunities, and events to individuals that might not otherwise be familiar with, or engage with, peer support.
Starting on Friday, March 6, 2026, the committee will meet monthly via Zoom on the first Friday from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
