Betsy Hoekstra
Training Specialist

Betsy is a psych survivor hailing from Grand Rapids, MI. She spent her college years in Portland, OR before moving to Vermont over three years ago to work in Pathways' Soteria program. At Soteria, she embraced the art of peer support to build transformative, lasting relationships with residents and staff in the program. She experienced working on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and swing shift schedules, eventually joining the leadership team and frequently contributing to dialogues on program policy and procedures. She's excited to bring her perspectives from direct service into this role with the training team, and is most looking forward to hearing about the experiences of peer workers across the state as we reflect together along the journey of implementing Peer Certification.
