Amey Dettmer
Peer Certification Project Manager
Amey is the Peer Certification Project Manager at Pathways Vermont. She has over a decade’s experience as a peer specialist and peer support educator and is nationally known in the peer support and psychiatric survivor movement. She is distinguished as an Alternatives to Suicide Group Facilitator, a Statewide Intentional Peer Support Trainer, and a Youth and Young Adult Peer Support Trainer. Amey is passionate about building communities grounded in values of autonomy, self-determination, healing, authenticity, and connection. Amey’s educator and group facilitator skills are rooted in her own lived experience as a mental health service recipient in many social systems. This experience has led her to advocate for social change and efforts that involve the re-imagining of systems and communities to better support and include those of us who may experience mental health difficulties.
